Beginner swim class meets Mondays 4:15pm - 5:00pm
Dates: June 27-August 8 (No class July 4th)
Have you always wanted to learn how to swim but were afraid to try? Here’s an opportunity to learn the basics.
This class is designed for students with no swim experience to those working towards independent swimming.
Swimmers start with learning the basic swimming & safety skills and progress to independent freestyle and backstroke techniques.
Advanced Beginner: swim class meets Wednesdays 4:15pm - 5:00pm
Dates: July 6 - August 10
Ready to take the next step? Do you have the basics but need help putting it all together?
This class focuses on improving breathing and overall techniques and gaining endurance in freestyle and backstroke. The fundamentals of breaststroke, elementary backstroke, sidestroke, and butterfly will be explored.
Prerequisite for advanced beginner/intermediate
Swimmers must be able to float on their backs, be comfortable with putting face in the water and swim a minimum of 25 yards (1 length) of the pool safely. If you are unsure of your swim level, come to the pool during lap swim for a quick swim level test.
So you want to join a swim team? class meets Fridays 4:15pm - 5:00pm
Dates: July 8 - August 12
Are you interested in joining a local, club or high school swim team? This program will review technique in the 4 competitive strokes {Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly} Additional team-specific education on reading a swim workout, drills, turns, starts and prevention of disqualification in meets.
Prerequisite for advanced beginner/intermediate
Swimmers must be comfortable with putting face in the water and be able to swim a minimum of 50 yards (2 length) of the lap pool Freestyle and 25 yards (1 length) Backstroke. If you are unsure if you can complete the prerequisites, come to the pool during lap swim for a quick swim level test.
