Somerville Parks and Recreation and Somerville High School Athletics are teaming up to offer a community event on Tuesday November 4 (Election Day, no school) to support Girls and Women in Sports Day.
This is a drop off only program!
Last year this pilot program serviced 90 youth participants, with over 25 SHS volunteer student athletes, to offer 6 unique sporting opportunities. For 2025, we're hoping to continue expanding that impact!
This event is for females, and non-males, in Kindergarten to 6th Grade. These participants will get the chance to try out 8 different sport stations! This will include lacrosse, soccer, basketball, hockey, tennis, volleyball, flag football, and softball!
Participants, Kindergarten-6th grade, are required to register to participate in this event.
Each sport station will have an activity ran by the Somerville High School female, and non-male, athletes lead by the Captains Counsel members, and supported by their high school teammates.
This event works to increase female sport opportunities in Somerville, and create community among our various age groups. Come by and see this amazing community event!
