Lifeguard Certification Class
Want to become Lifeguard Certified!? The city of Somerville is offering the opportunity for Somerville residents to get certified at the Ginny Smithers Pool. This is a 3 day class that attendees must attend all 3 days and complete online work prior to the course starting.
Prior to the start date:
- 20 hours of online course material completed before the first day of in-person learning.
Start of Class:
- Must be at least 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session.
- Complete a swim-tread-swim sequence.
- Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds
Schedule:
Tuesday June 23rd- 8am-3pm
Wednesday June 24th- 8am-3pm
Thursday June 25th- 8am-3:30pm
Things to know:
Attendees will be in the water and out of the water so please bring a change of clothes and a towel
There will be a lunch break/ regular breaks so please plan accordingly.
Please plan to be there for all scheduled hours.
