Parent and Child classes for 6 - 36 months
Preschool Classes for children 3 - 5 years old
Youth Classes for children 5 - 12 years old
Teen Classes for those 13-17
Adult Classes for those 18 and older
Skill levels vary within age groups.Level 1: Swimmers who are still getting comfortable in the water and have low/no prior swimming ability.Level 2: Swimmers who are generally comfortable being in the water and submerging, but still have limited/low swimming ability.Level 3: Intermediate swimmers who know the fundamentals of arm strokes and leg kicks. Comfortable swimming short distances, submerging, and blowing bubbles through nose.Level 4: Proficient swimmers who need practice and technique adjustment. Should be able to swim 25 yards unassisted and in a competent manner.Participants enrolled in a level that does not match their ability may be subject to removal from the course.If you have any questions or need assistance with finding the correct level for yourself or your child, please reach out to us at aquatics@somervillema.gov
